[00:00:00] Speaker A: I am in the studio with Mansa Musa from moneysmartlife.org, and our special guest Aziza is in the studio with us. How are you? All? [00:00:11] Speaker B: Well. All is well, thank you. [00:00:13] Speaker A: I am so glad you're here today because we're celebrating an anniversary. Nine years, nine glorious years of take control Tuesday. [00:00:23] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:00:24] Speaker A: So in the month of July, we always celebrate this. And what we're gonna do today is go back to the basics of our faith when it comes down to finance. [00:00:37] Speaker B: Yep. That's what we're going to talk about today. And we're going to actually base everything we do in this series on scripture. How about that? So now when it comes to money, it's all based on seed time and harvest. Now let's get a quick biblical understanding of what that is. You go to Genesis, chapter one, verse eleven. On the second day of creation, God said, let every seed produce more of its own kind. [00:01:08] Speaker A: Wow. [00:01:09] Speaker B: What he did was he created the earth. He created the seeds. The seeds sprouted, they became grains, they became fruits. Right? You get a lot of seeds, so every seed will produce more of its own kind. However, an orange seed will not produce an apple tree. So don't expect to plant one kind of seed and get another result. The second thing that God told us in Genesis, chapter eight, verse 22, this is after the flood, so folk had messed up. He said, while the earth remains seed, time and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease. All right, so as long as there's night and day, as long as the seasons change, there's going to be seed time and harvest. Yes. So we have two solid principles here from the Old Testament that give us a foundation that if we plant seed, we will have harvest. But that's Old Testament, Randy. And, you know, sometimes we got to go to the New Testament. And here's what the New Testament tells us. Basically, you will reap what you sow. [00:02:24] Speaker A: Amen. [00:02:25] Speaker B: And second Corinthians, chapter nine, verses six and seven says this, whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. Whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Plant your seed cheerfully. [00:02:57] Speaker A: Yes. [00:02:58] Speaker B: Now, when you go to second corinthians, chapter nine, because we don't want anybody to accuse us of taking this out of context, what chapter nine is talking about, Paul is encouraging the Corinthians to finish their donation that they promised to give to the Macedonians. [00:03:14] Speaker A: Okay. [00:03:15] Speaker B: Chapter nine is specifically about christian giving. So once again, our time's limited here today. We may go into that deeper in future sessions, but I encourage you to read the entire context. [00:03:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:26] Speaker B: You reap what you sow. If you sow generously, you will reap generously. Ooh. [00:03:33] Speaker A: I love it. All we preach in here on take control Tuesday, and I love it when we get here because it's important for people to be reminded that that's the basic principle. [00:03:46] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:03:47] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:47] Speaker B: And not only that, just think about this for a minute. What price did God pay to bring us back into. Right. Standing with him. [00:03:58] Speaker A: Wow. [00:03:58] Speaker B: Did not Jesus say he takes care of the birds, the flowers? Why would he not take care of us? But he also promised us to do exceedingly, abundantly, beyond all we can ask or think. But in order to access that, there's some things that we have to do. [00:04:17] Speaker A: We have to do completely. Well, you can get all of our [email protected]. moneysmartlife.org. When you go there, make sure that you like and share all this information because it is always worthwhile. Thank you so much, Mansa.
