[00:00:00] Speaker A: It's Tuesday. That means it's Take Control Tuesday. And I'm on the phone with Mansa Musa. Mansa, thank you for giving me a call today because this is important. You're watching the news. I'm watching the news. It just seems like things are just going to go bananas. And today we're going to talk about how to prepare for hard times. From the word of God though.
[00:00:23] Speaker B: Absolutely. You know, there are or have been some fundamental changes in the world order as we look forward, things can go either way.
So let's look at God's word and talk about how to prepare for hard times.
Because if hard times are coming, you want to be prepared for. Now, if you go to Proverbs, chapter 6, verse 6 through 8, he just says, I'm gonna paraphrase here, go look at the ant. The ant works all the time. It doesn't have a boss, it doesn't have an overseer.
[00:01:02] Speaker A: Right.
[00:01:02] Speaker B: It's doing it because it's the right thing to do. Proverbs 21:20. The why store up choice food and olive oil? But fools go, there's doubt.
[00:01:15] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:01:16] Speaker B: Don't spend everything that you make. Number two, Prepare for difficult times while trusting in God's provision.
Now, Joseph interpreted Pharaoh's dream and said, hey, we got seven years of pudding and seven years of famine coming. So they laid up during the years of plenty, so they were prepared for the years of famine. So you want to prepare, you want to be prudent, but you don't want to forget yourself.
[00:01:50] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:01:51] Speaker B: Matthew 6, 25:26. Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the year. They do not sow or reap or store away in barns. Yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than them?
[00:02:23] Speaker A: Hallelujah.
[00:02:24] Speaker B: Preparation is wise, but our ultimate trust has to be in God. The third thing you got to do is manage your finances and your resources. You got to have a plan, you got to have a budget. You can't just go on impulse anymore. You got to strategically apply your resources. The other thing is first Timothy, chapter 5, verse 8, says, anyone who does not provide for their relatives and especially for their own household, and denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
[00:03:04] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:03:05] Speaker B: Providing one's family is a biblical responsibility. I have two questions that people need to answer. Question number one, Whose safety net are you when push comes to shove. Family comes to family. So whose safety net are you? Second question is, who's your safety net? Yeah, this push comes to show.
[00:03:33] Speaker A: Wow, those are some toes you're stepping on.
[00:03:37] Speaker B: The next one.
The next one is spiritual preparation for hard times. Ephesians, chapter 6, verse 10 tells us to put on the full armor of God so that we can take our stand against the devil's scheme. So spiritual preparation is just as important as physical preparation?
[00:04:04] Speaker A: Absolutely.
[00:04:04] Speaker B: If times are hard, maybe you might need to step up your prayer routine.
[00:04:08] Speaker A: For sure.
[00:04:09] Speaker B: Now, the fifth thing we have to do is help others in difficult times.
Galatians, chapter 6, verse 2.
Carry each other's burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.
Proverbs 11:25.
A generous person will prosper. Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
Generosity and community support are part of wise preparation.
[00:04:52] Speaker A: Amen. It is so. Oh, my goodness. All of those are so good, so rich, so full. I need you to go back and listen to it so it will be in our archives at Take control Tuesday.com and man. So I'm ready. I'm ready for whatever times are coming at after this. Thank you so much.
[00:05:09] Speaker B: Thank you.
