This week on Take Control Tuesday, Mansa Musa breaks down how credit cards can actually help improve your lifestyle—if you use them strategically. Let’s be real: the credit card industry makes big money off people who carry a balance. But if you’ve got decent credit (especially good credit), these companies compete hard for your business. [00:00:00] Always happy to talk to Manta Musa. It is Take Control Tuesday and Manza is a little rough for a lot of people that are trying to just make it happen for them financially. And today we're going to talk about using our credit cards to improve our lifestyle in tough times. Can we dwell on that just a little bit? Yeah, sure. You know, the credit card industry is extremely profitable for people that carry a balance and they can compete very heavily for your business. [00:00:34] So if you have reasonable credit and especially if you have really good credit, the credit card companies will offer you benefits for using them. Right. Points back, credit on cruises, different things. [00:00:53] So you're using your credit cards anyway. [00:00:58] So you should use them strategically for things that will help improve your lifestyle. If you travel, you can do it with travel benefit credit cards. If you frequent a certain store brand, you can use their credit cards. I have Amazon credit card. Every time I order from Amazon I get an automatic 5% back. Wow. Who doesn't order from Amazon? Right? I, I don't have a car right now, so I use delivery services for a lot of things. [00:01:34] I have an instacart credit card. First of all, they give you $50 for signing up but you get 5% off all of your instacart orders so you can manifest benefits for your lifestyle because there's a credit card that matches it. The other thing is you don't want to use benefit because it may impact your credit score if you get a new credit card. So you don't want to use it on accounts that are very narrow. Get Visa, MasterCard, not store accounts. Got it. That's some great information and I think that a lot of people don't even look at that as a benefit for your lifestyle as opposed to, you know, oh, I can just charge this on my regular card. Once again, if you have bad credit, they are a weapon against you. But if you have good credit, there are tool that you can use for your benefit. They want you find what best fits your lifestyle and just use the system. Once again, we say it all the time. A well managed credit card is a credit card with a statement balance is paid in full by the due date. If you do that and get cash back, points, miles, whatever, you're using the system to your benefit. [00:03:00] Absolutely. Well, we have more information about credit card usage and a lot more in our archives so you can head over to take control Tuesday.com and Manta, as always, I truly appreciate you. Thank you.
