[00:00:00] Speaker A: I'm too excited because I am on the phone with the group Fire, and I'm talking about all y'.
[00:00:06] Speaker B: All.
[00:00:06] Speaker A: Right?
I told you off the air. That is so cool to me to hear all of you. And Terrell, let me know who's all in the room.
[00:00:18] Speaker B: What's going on. It's your boy Terrell. It's your nephew Juwan. It's your cousin Tajan. It's your brother Al. It's your guy Justin. And we're in the group Fire.
[00:00:26] Speaker A: Absolutely. You know, I learned a lot over the years about you guys. And the way you do music, the way you approach music, is never the standard.
You guys always go above and beyond the standard, first of all. And secondly, you try new things and you're not afraid of it.
About last night is a prime example. It was kind of like an always and forever feel for those of us who can go back that far. And it just resonated still with so many people.
[00:01:00] Speaker B: Thank you. Thank you so much. Yeah, you know, we always want to push the envelope, you know, and we come from a musical background. You know, big shout out to my dad, Steve Cooper, who has, you know, instilled real music in our blood, pretty much. You know, this man has taught us everything, man. And, you know, a lot of what he writes, he likes to take different parts and different genres and mesh it together and make it goofaya. And one of those songs is about last night, you know, of course, you know, you have people that thought, hey, man, this is R B.
No, it's not R B. You know, the message is still the same. We talking about Jesus Christ. You know, it's evident, you know, when you listen to the lyrics, one of the lines we say is, only one life and sooner would pass. Only what you do for Christ will last. So absolutely, definitely pushing that message.
[00:01:49] Speaker A: And what I also love is that you all are from New Jersey, no shade, but you have taken the best of the Winans and commission from right here in the D and other groups and have come up with your own thing, and that's admirable, too.
[00:02:07] Speaker B: Oh, man. Thank you so much. We're students of the game. We're young, but we've been in the game for a long time. You know, some people call us young legends, but, like, we just love to study. We love to listen to different artists and learn from everyone. You're never too old. You learn Shout outs to, you know, Marvin Winans. We had the pleasure of going to his church and performing in front of him. He's a Big fan of Fix it and all these great, you know, pioneers and gospel music, but, yeah, we just love to learn.
[00:02:35] Speaker A: Absolutely. And you could tell as well. Well, you have new music and I got a chance to take a listen to it. It's called I Can Count on youn. And let me tell you something. You took me back again.
[00:02:50] Speaker B: Thank you so much. Yeah, Yeah, I could count on you. Just one of those songs you want to, you know, take you back and. And I guess that's the vibe we on right now. I mean, that's the vein that we on. Going back to a time where, you know, real not saying that, you know, we have real music today, but back in the day, it was just different. And, you know, our songwriter, Steve Cooper, he did a good job in nailing the theme of trust and reliance on this one. So, you know, it's all about knowing that there's someone you can always depend on no matter what life throws at you. And for us, it speaks to the unwavering support we find in our faith. So go get that, man. You know what else the Bible says in Psalms 18 and 2, the Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God in whom I take refuge. So just knowing that, you know, when you listen to this song, it's a reminder to let you know that you always have somebody to lean on. That's Jesus. And you know what? Pityback off the Earl said, man can let you down. People can let you down in all fastest life. But, you know, we trust God. We know that he'll never let us down. He's the author and finisher of our faith. We look up to God and we trust that he's going to be someone to be accountable.
[00:04:02] Speaker A: It's the group Fire. I can count on you. Come on, y', all with the disco.
I love the horns, all of that. It is so good.
