Dr. Pauline Furman is on a mission.
She wants to make sure that no African American is ashamed to see a therapist. And she wants to disabuse people of the notion that “Christian” and “therapy” are not mutually exclusive concepts. I had the great opportunity to talk to Dr. Furman about her new book, When God Shows Up on the Couch, which looks at honest stories of individuals whom she as a therapist has counseled over the years.
