[00:00:00] Speaker A: I have Crystal Akin on the phone. How are you, my dear?
[00:00:04] Speaker B: I'm good, Randy. What's up? What's up everybody?
[00:00:07] Speaker A: I'm so glad to have you back on my show after he can handle it. And you blew our heads off with that one. You have a new song out and I'm so excited to talk about it.
[00:00:17] Speaker B: I am too. I'm excited that there's motion, you know, movement, new music and we're kind of in this place of kind of getting a lot of music out so that people can kind of be reintroduced to Crystal Akin again. So I'm excited about that.
[00:00:29] Speaker A: Now listen, before we talk about Lauren, Lord, I need your help. What's been going on in between?
He can handle it. And now?
[00:00:37] Speaker B: Well, we are planning to do a live recording. So there's a lot of planning right now in the works. Even though the single came out, we're looking to do something this year. 2026. We were supposed to have a recording in 24 and circumstances kind of changed and so now I've never done a live recording. All of my albums have been studio based and so this is a lot of mental work and teamwork having to put something together in this.
So I'm really excited kind of about where we're going and the direction we're headed.
[00:01:09] Speaker A: So yeah, that's going to be amazing because I've seen you live and it is just over the top. So I can't wait for a whole live project from you.
[00:01:20] Speaker B: I'm excited. I think when people got initially introduced to me on their screens, it was in a live setting. Then all of a sudden, you know, you did studio music and I feel like even, you know, that I'm two people and I want to be able to give people more of a continuity of who I am live and people that get to experience me. It definitely feels different than a studio based album. So I'm really looking forward. I'm a church baby, you know what I mean? And so to be able to put me in the church setting, do what we've always been doing since our youth, it's just going to be spiritually magical, if that makes sense. I know that's oxymoronic, but you know
[00:01:52] Speaker A: what I'm saying, it does make total sense and I'm really happy for you on that. So listen, you have a new single, it's called Lord, I need your help. Tell me a little bit about it and then we're going to play it.
[00:02:04] Speaker B: That's awesome. Well, I mean, it speaks for itself because, honey, Lord, I do. I need your help. It's a song that came to me back in 2010.
And I was driving down the street, and all of a sudden this melody came, the lyrics came, and it was really in a place where my back was against the wall. And the only person that I could cry out to was the Lord. Called a couple friends. They just didn't have the right answers for me. And so I pray that it's a testament for others that they can utilize the language, the lyrics for their own personal life, that when their backs against the wall, when they have no other direction to go to get help, that they will reach and call out to the Lord. My Bible says this, that he answers our call for his people. And so if people will just call on him, he will answer. That's what I love. That the song is three and something minutes long. But by the end, it's like, I got Jesus. He showed up for me. So hopefully people will be encouraged to know that when you call, he will answer. Anybody ever needed the Lord's help? Well, my help comes from. From.
[00:03:00] Speaker A: It is crystal, ain y'? All? Lord, I need your help. And honey, that's the kind that make me pat the top of my head.
[00:03:11] Speaker B: Yes. And I love the baseline. I love the funk of the song. I love the vibe of it. Aon Lewis is the one who put the music to it for me. And I had. You know, it just came to me years ago. So I love that I got an opportunity to partner with him. He did. He can handle it for me. That song went number one. So he's just the best. He's just a great dude. And I know. I love our collaboration together. So hopefully people get a chance to feel that vibe as well.
[00:03:38] Speaker A: I hope so, too. Listen, I've heard so many artists that have said that the Lord speaks to them while they're in the car. Travis Green, Lena Bird Miles, and just so many others. So, you know, God, just be using that wheel.
[00:03:53] Speaker B: I'm telling you, it's a place of therapy for me, for all of my friends, people that know me, my family. I love to drive. Okay? So road trips are my thing. It's a place where I feel like my mind is.
I don't have to necessarily listen to music. I can drive in silence, pray, all of that good stuff. And I believe that's the best place for him to download. I'm isolated.
[00:04:12] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:04:12] Speaker B: There's nothing else I can do but be with him. So it's the best place for him to speak.
[00:04:17] Speaker A: Yeah, I absolutely love it. Well, how do we find the song and how do we find you on social media?
[00:04:23] Speaker B: Absolutely. I'm out there on Facebook at the crystal aiken and that's a I k I n and then on ig at thereal Crystal aiken a I k I n. You can get the music on all of your digital platforms. It's there. Lord, I need your help. He can handle it. I mean, going back to I desire more. It's all there. Please go check it out. Support. I always want to say this if I can, Randy, just to say thank you not only to youth playing the music but also to the fans who are listening to your radio station. I am really a product of people's support. Sunday best came into people's homes. They voted, they believed, they prayed and they've been behind me all of these years. So thank you to everyone.
[00:05:02] Speaker A: Thank you as well. I love you. You know that.
[00:05:04] Speaker B: I love you too. Thank you.
