[00:00:00] Speaker A: I am on the phone with my sister, Lisa Paige Brooks. How are you, my dear? [00:00:05] Speaker B: Hey, I'm doing great. [00:00:07] Speaker A: It's good to hear your voice. I'm so excited because we get a chance to see you and Ricky Dillard on Saturday for Hallelujah for Heat. [00:00:17] Speaker B: Yes. I'm excited as well. [00:00:21] Speaker A: When the organizers asked what I thought about having Ricky Dillard and Lisa Paige Brooks, I was like, oh, that's a no brainer. And this was way before the situation that happened with the promoter that had everybody up in arms. [00:00:40] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, that was a, what a bummer. But I mean it, you know what, it happens. You know what I'm saying? [00:00:46] Speaker A: Right. [00:00:47] Speaker B: It doesn't happen the same way, but it happens. It happens quite a bit. And you just have to forge forward. And, and for me, I, I was excited about the tour because it was different. [00:01:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:01:00] Speaker B: And I believe that people were excited. I hear from people everywhere saying they had gotten tickets because it was a different show and they were excited about something new and something different. And you know, I just know there'll be other opportunities and you gotta know what your source, where your source comes from and all. So because I'm locked into that, of course I wanted it to take place but you know, something else has to open up. So I'm excited about that as well. [00:01:30] Speaker A: I'm for sure excited about that as well because you have to vet people, you have to dig in these days. It's not everybody, you know, who claims to be Christian does the Christian like thing. So that brings me to the fact that Hallelujah for Heat is a free concert and we get both of you, which is so much fun. [00:01:55] Speaker B: Yes. I'm, I'm so super excited. It's just awesome for me to be able to do something at home. I love my city. I just love being from Detroit. I love every opportunity I can get to pour into my people and to encourage, you know, the people here in our city. So I'm so excited about it. And of course I love my brother Ricky Dillard. I've been knowing him, I just say forever. I stopped counting the years. [00:02:24] Speaker A: Yes. [00:02:24] Speaker B: So. So yeah, it's good, it's going to be good to see him again. I saw him a few weeks ago in D.C. and we loved on one another. So. Yes. Saturday. You don't want to miss Saturday. [00:02:38] Speaker A: Not at all. And listen, there are a few more tickets left on eventbrite.com so all you have to do is look up Hallelujah for Heat. It'll be at Fellowship Chapel. Doors open at 5pm and man, we're going to have such a great time on Saturday. So make sure you get your tickets. You can still come in the line, but I think they're almost sold out on even break. [00:03:02] Speaker B: Wow, that's awesome. [00:03:04] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:05] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:03:05] Speaker A: So it'll be a packed crowd. Everybody's ready to get some in Jesus infused into them. [00:03:11] Speaker B: Yes, absolutely. Absolutely. It's just such a wonderful event. Just, you know, any, anytime we can help the community. I love it. I love it. [00:03:23] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what it's all about. Well, when we come back, we're going to talk about a brand new song, a brand single that you have out and what's going on with my sister, Lisa Paige Brooks. Okay. On the phone with Lisa Paige Brooks, who will be part of Hallelujah for he coming up this Saturday at Fellowship Chapel. You can get all the [email protected] and Lisa, you have a brand new song. It's called Hand on Me. And like I told you off the air, I had a chance to hear it before it was completely done and I was so excited about it. Tell me about this. [00:04:03] Speaker B: Yes, I am, listen, I am elated. This is, this new song. It's just so different and I love it. This is making history for me because this is the first time I recorded anything without my husband, the late, great, amazing Michael Alan Brooks. [00:04:23] Speaker A: Amen. [00:04:23] Speaker B: Sitting in the studio. So it's a new company, a new record label with my wonderful, kind, just. Oh, my God. I love Pastor Warren Campbell and he and his beautiful wife Erica. And this is my first time it was in the studio. He made me comfortable in the studio, so respectful, treated me like I was a legend. It was just amazing. This song just, it's a. It's great. It's written by Eric Dawkins and Warren Campbell. And really, it just, it speaks of my testimony up into this second of my life. God's hand has been on me all along. That's why I made it to this second and even made it through it being such a devastating time the last two and a half years, losing my husband, but knowing that he's in the presence of the Lord. So just when I have those hard, rough, crazy moments, God gives me strength. Even when I sit through it, whatever. I sometimes, you know, I'm learning to manage my emotions, Randy. And, you know, because you got to live life, you got to take care of business, you know, you got to do stuff. So. But if you don't, if you don't do it the right way, grief can overtake you. So I'm so grateful to God for giving me the strength, the fortitude, the wisdom and the connections to push through. A lot of people see me up there behind a microphone jumping around, having a ball and encouraging them, and they feel like you're always strong. No, I'm not. But because God's hand has been on my life and I have the strength of God and I know God is real. That's what takes me, as I say, one second at a time. I got T shirts and hats and mugs and stuff, you know, that say, actually say one second at a time because that's my testimony. [00:06:12] Speaker A: Yes. Amen. Well, let's listen to it right now on the Detroit Praise Network. Lisa Page Books, handle me. Oh, this has been so much fun. My sister, my friend Lisa Paige Brooks on the phone with me. And you will be part of Hallelujah for Heat coming up on Saturday at Fellowship Chapel. Tickets are free, go to eventbrite.com and then you can still come, but it is first come, first serve, so you all make sure that you get your tickets. And Lisa, I look forward to seeing you and watching you on social media, go through, through all the things that you have to go through when you're grieving. It's all the things, you know, the new first steps of everything. So I appreciate you being, you know, very, very transparent. And congratulations with the new grandbaby, the granddaughter. [00:07:08] Speaker B: Yes, My beautiful Adeya Sharice Lofton. Yes. We're excited about her. Thank you so much. Thank you, Randy, for your support over the years. Thank you, Detroit. I love you. And I will see you all Saturday.
