[00:00:00] Speaker A: Well, the scripture says in Psalm 90 and 17 May, the favor of the Lord our God rest on us. Establish the work of our hands for us. Yes. Establish the work of our hands. And the name of the group is Red Hands, and they come from that scripture. And I have Kyrie Tyler from Red Hands on the phone with me. How are you?
[00:00:24] Speaker B: I'm great. How you doing, family?
[00:00:26] Speaker A: I am doing so good. I've been following you all for a minute, and mostly because I caught a video of you in collaboration with my nephew from Detroit, Tim Bowman Jr. I can't remember the name of the song that it was.
No Rush.
[00:00:42] Speaker B: No Rush.
[00:00:43] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:00:43] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:00:45] Speaker A: But you all have some new music out. But before we get to that, give me a little bit about your background. You kind of mixes a little soul, a little funk and R and B, that kind of thing. Tell me a little bit about the group.
[00:00:59] Speaker B: So we started in 2016.
As, you know, we're all musicians, we're all singers for years, and we even still do it now. We, you know, play for other artists. We sing for other artists. And back in 2016, we were actually on a trip on our way to Michigan, actually, to perform with an artist that we were working with. And I remember my brother Al Parker was driving, who's the bass player. And I remember turning over to him and tell him, like, I think it is time to pour into the vision that God has given us.
You know, so many times we take the time and, you know, I'm all about transparency, so, you know, I'm gonna keep it real. We, you know, do what makes us money.
[00:01:39] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:01:39] Speaker B: And as musicians, you know, we do what we got to do. And so many times we pour into other people's visions, you know, for the sake of, hey, we gotta do what we gotta do.
[00:01:48] Speaker A: Sure.
[00:01:48] Speaker B: That we neglect the vision that God has given us. And I think back then in 2016, that was the moment where we just decided, let's build something.
Let's build a vision that God has given us, and let's just see where it goes. And that's where Red Hands came from.
[00:02:04] Speaker A: It has gone very far for you all from 2016, and I absolutely love the fact that you still are out there. You all were just back up for Cowboy Carter.
[00:02:15] Speaker B: Yes, ma'. Am.
[00:02:16] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh.
My sister went to that concert. I didn't get a chance to go. But what was that like?
[00:02:22] Speaker B: It was such an amazing experience. It was always amazing to see production at such a high level.
It gives us, you know, wisdom to kind of pull back and pour into what we're building.
I believe ministry should be just as excellent. So it's always cool to be in those type of environments and pull those little nuggets on. You know how to make a show of that magnitude. So it was amazing.
[00:02:46] Speaker A: Yeah. You know, I would think that doing that night after night, being on tour with a high caliber artist would give you inspiration with your stuff.
[00:02:56] Speaker B: Yeah, for sure.
[00:02:57] Speaker A: Well, you have a new song, you all have a new song. It's called Walking and give me some background on this song and we're gonna play it.
[00:03:06] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. So Walking, honestly, it's a testament of our lives, but it's also meant to encourage anybody who, you know, might be feeling stuck or, you know, we all go into these seasons where it doesn't feel comfortable. It don't look good.
But this song is supposed to be and meant to be a testament to. You don't have to stay where you are. With God's grace, you're able to get up. You got to keep moving. All right, let's try this again. New Red Hands. Let's go.
[00:03:32] Speaker A: Keep on walking.
I'm with Kyrie Tyler from Red Hands and I want to first of all say thank you so much for talking to you. I'm kind of fangirling out a little bit because I love the group so much and I love that song.
