Tim & Brelyn Bowman’s ‘Purity Commitment’ Goes Viral [[Exclusive Interview]]

… And it almost broke the internet.

When gospel artist Tim Bowman, Jr. married Brelyn (Freeman), never in their wildest dreams did they think that their commitment to remain virgins till they married would cause such a stir. Personally, I don’t think it would have been a stir had it not been for one thing… the “Certificate of Purity.”

I had a conversation with the newlyweds about the controversy and the beauty that has happened as a result.

What was meant to be a declaration and a testimony of faith, love and honor to God and her parents, was reposted by several national gossip blogs with a caption suggesting her “Certificate of Purity” had “gone too far.” The thousands of comments that followed stirred a furry of emotions regarding the subject of virginity and purity in today’s modern day society. Brelyn understands that people often attack what they, in fact, do not understand, and has decided to turn what was meant for their harm, and use it to share her passion for holiness to God and obedience to her parents, while showing us how God honors such a life. The Bowman’s are delighted that, through this experience, God can use their testimony as an opportunity to make Jesus famous!
