Show Notes

It’s Take Control Tuesday, and this week Mansa Musa from MoneySmartLife.org joins us with a timely reminder: the financial season is changing — and preparation matters more than panic. We’re all watching the headlines. Costs are shifting. Systems feel unstable. And for many families, the pressure is already real. Mansa puts it plainly. The global financial system we’ve known for decades is changing, and it’s not going back to business as usual. Still, this isn’t a message of fear. It’s a call to wisdom. Mansa points us to the story of Joseph in Egypt. In seasons of abundance, Joseph prepared […]

[00:00:00] Speaker A: It's Take Control Tuesday. So that means Mansa Moussa is on the phone with me and Mansa. We're all watching the news. We see the craziness that is happening and people are already having issues with their finances. And our standard of living is changing because the season actually for the United States has changed. What say you? [00:00:24] Speaker B: Yeah, you know, you're right. They global financial system as it has existed since World War II is ruptured and it is not coming back. And people have to be prepared for that. The seasons are changing. Now, here's the thing. Not time to panic. God still sits on the throne. He controls the seasons, but he encourages us to be wise and, and be aware of the seasons that are happening and changing. So I want to encourage people to look at this like Joseph did in Egypt. There were seven years of abundance. God notified him that there would be abundance, and he also notified him that the famine was coming. [00:01:18] Speaker A: Right. [00:01:19] Speaker B: And what did Joseph do? He prepared in the time of famine, plenty for the famine. [00:01:26] Speaker A: Right. [00:01:26] Speaker B: And that's what I want to encourage our listeners to do as well. Right now, while things are relatively stable, you need to be preparing yourself for the massive changes that are coming to the United States economic system and prosperity. One of the things that you can do, and we've always said this, is eliminate debt. [00:01:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:01:55] Speaker B: By eliminating debt in your life, you give yourself more flexibility. You're not tied down and you're better able to go with the flow, so to speak. [00:02:07] Speaker A: Right. [00:02:08] Speaker B: The other thing you can do is build yourself some cushion. You know, the Bible says it's sort of mistranslated, but often repeated, that money answers all things we say, have an emergency fund. People need to stop chasing things, expanding their lifestyle, and find a way to hold on to money, to assets, to resources. [00:02:37] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:02:38] Speaker B: So that you can have flexibility when those shocks come. Because as we always say, life happens while you're making other plans. [00:02:48] Speaker A: Yep. [00:02:49] Speaker B: So be prepared for that. And finally, stay on your face before God. Stay in right relationships that will help you and increase your wisdom for this upcoming turbulent time. The younger you are, the more impact this is going to have on you. Listen, Randy, AI is changing the entire employment structure, things that people used to go to school for, and all of that are being replaced by AI. It's an unsettled time, but once again, God is still on the throne. And I encourage people to seek his face, but also reduce their debt, increase their savings, and finally increase community. [00:03:41] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:41] Speaker B: You were saved by your relationships, not by your money. If you look at the Bible people always survived hard times as a community, not as individuals. [00:03:54] Speaker A: Absolutely. Amen and Amen. And it's not to scare us, but it's to prepare us for the things that are to come. Or maybe even the things that you're experiencing right now. Mansa, as always, we we have this information on our [email protected] archives are there as well. And thank you so much. [00:04:15] Speaker B: Thank you.
