[00:00:00] Speaker A: I am in the studio with some people that I just met, but I feel like I've known them all of my life. I'm talking about Bishop J. Darrell and Lady Elaine Robinson. How are y' all doing?
[00:00:12] Speaker B: Well, we're blessed. Blessed. Blessed. Blessed.
[00:00:15] Speaker A: Absolutely. I found out about you through Jerome Hunt, and you all have new music, and we're gonna talk about that in just a little bit. But tell me who you are, Bishop.
[00:00:29] Speaker B: Well, I'm Bishop J. Darrell Robinson from South Philadelphia, born and raised. Brotherly love and sisterly affection.
[00:00:38] Speaker A: Yes, absolutely.
[00:00:39] Speaker B: Yes. And Yesha Ministries is our ministry in Philadelphia, where we are a holistic ministry. We work with the streets quite a bit and with people that are in addiction and we do a lot in the community. We're really a community oriented church.
[00:00:56] Speaker A: That is so good. You know, a lot of churches stay in those four walls and they may be doing great. That's not the issue. But there's more outside of those four walls that. Inside.
[00:01:09] Speaker B: Yes, it's a great commission. I mean, Jesus proclaimed that we were to go out.
[00:01:14] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:01:14] Speaker B: And so in going out, you can't really bring people in unless you go out. So we believe in that principle.
[00:01:21] Speaker A: Absolutely. And I'm finding out because we've been in the same spaces and didn't know it.
[00:01:27] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:01:28] Speaker A: Back in the day in Philly, when they had the Inspiration Conference.
[00:01:31] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:01:32] Speaker A: You played a huge instrumental part in that.
[00:01:35] Speaker B: Well, you know, it's a blessing. I've worked, you know, along with the inspirational concerts with Elroy Smith, who's still my friend, and we did, in fact, we did the Yolanda Adams morning show at my facility several times. And so, yes, we're excited about just the gospel music genre.
[00:01:57] Speaker A: Right. Lady Elaine? When we talk about gospel, especially here in Detroit and things like that, it always brings to mind of worship, togetherness. And off the air, we were talking about choirs and how important it is to bring that light.
How is it with you all in your ministry?
[00:02:18] Speaker C: Yes, well, we in our ministry is all about reaching the people. All about reaching the people. And with this song in particular, Master of the Storm, it's about knowing that in spite of anything that's going on in your life, that God not within our own power, but in his might and his power, he will direct us through anything that we're going through. And it's such a blessing to be able to minister and have people hear it. And not only hear it, but really believe in your heart and your mind.
[00:02:47] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:02:48] Speaker C: And in your. In your soul. That God is the master of the Storm. And he can get you through whatever you need to get through.
[00:02:53] Speaker B: And so. And so our music, we do praise and worship music, but we still also do choir music.
Yes, yes.
[00:03:01] Speaker A: Yeah, absolutely. Some of my favorite kind of music. So let's switch gears and talk about Master of the Storm. Give me a little bit of background on that, Bishop.
[00:03:12] Speaker B: Well, this is a very serious background. I was riding on 76 Expressway in Philadelphia, and the storm that was going on at that time was tumultuous, if I can use that word. And as I was driving, I was going under an underpass, and the rains were coming down. It was thundering. It was lightning. God put this song in my heart. He gave me the melody. He literally gave me the whole song.
And as a writer, I carry a little recorder so that I could hum the melody. And I began to hum the melody, and then, you know, I get home, and I begin to hammer out the melody on keys, and.
And so God was telling me through the storm that it doesn't really matter. I got you. I'm a keep you. I don't care what's going on.
I got you. And so that's really the. The background of that. This particular song. Oh, come on, children of God.
Look at life is full of storms.
But it's all right for us because he promised never to leave us.
Never to leave us alone. He is the master of the storm. Be still.
[00:04:30] Speaker A: Bishop J. Darrell and Lady Elaine Robinson, you are the lead on this song, along with the voice of worship. Voices of worship.
Wow. Come on, y' all.
Come on, y' all.
Now, I know how some of those underpasses are in Philly.
You can write a whole book in those underpasses in Philly. So what a blessing. Is the song available now?
[00:04:57] Speaker B: It is absolutely available on all platforms, itunes, and all the other platforms. And we're believing that as time moves that people will be blessed by hearing it.
[00:05:12] Speaker A: Now, I'm going to just ask you to do something for me, because a lot of people are in despair, and they don't realize that God is the master of the storm.
Could you lead us in some prayer as we leave out and just pray for our nation and the things that people are so concerned about?
[00:05:32] Speaker B: Yes, Lord, we thank you right now for your grace and your mercy.
Lord, I thank you for this opportunity to be here in Detroit on the Detroit Praise Network with this awesome woman of God, Randy Miles. We thank you for her anointing Father God. When we walked into this studio, Lord, we felt your spirit.
Lord, we thank you because you still have those that play your music that love you now. Father God, we pray for Detroit. We pray for all the cities in this country under this great Lord God oppressive spirit that has tried to take over this nation.
We bind the forces of the adversary. And Lord, we pray for a unity and a glue in love and in the spirit that will bring your people back together.
Lord, help us to turn to each other and not on each other and help us to choose higher ground.
Lord, we thank you because you're able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we could ask or think. We thank you also, Lord God, for our friends, Lord God, our brother Jerome Hunt, who brought us here, and his lovely wife Nia. Lord, we pray God that you would just have your way. We give you praise, Lord. We give you glory, Lord, and we give you honor. In Jesus name, Lord God. We thank you, Lord. Amen. Amen.
[00:06:59] Speaker A: Thank you so, so much.
Thank you so, so much. Where can we find you?
[00:07:04] Speaker B: Well, yeshaministries.org we are in again in South Philadelphia, 2301 Snyder Aven.
And we've been there for over 20 some years now. And we're just there trying to lift up the name of Jesus to the best of our ability. And we're on Facebook as well. And thank you so much for the opportunity that you've granted unto us to be here with you.
My sister Miles, you, you have such a beautiful smile and a lovely spirit.
[00:07:34] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:07:35] Speaker A: God bless you. Thank you.
