Local Artist Dying Wish To Be ‘Heard’

We recently received a touching letter from Charlene Hamlin on behalf of her dear friend Michael Scruggs. Michael is a season artist who toured as a musician for Jazz, Pop and R&B but later accepted his calling for gospel music. After recording his project titled the M.S. Project|The Conception – his motivation for the past year – he was diagnosed with stage 4 liver and colon cancer.

It was his hope that his project would be heard, so today, we feature a sample of the song You Are Lord.

I have followed his journey for many years and it’s amazing what GOD can do!  His lyrical testimonies in his songs speak to his personal journey, learning to lean on GOD which anyone can relate to.  After a few years of playing Jazz, Pop and R & B, Michael recognizes that his gift of music-lyrical storytelling was for a higher calling and taken Contemporary Gospel to a new level. ~Charlene Hamlin
