[00:00:00] Speaker A: I am absolutely so thrilled to talk to Martha Munizzi. How are you?
[00:00:06] Speaker B: I'm doing great, Randy. How are you?
[00:00:08] Speaker A: I'm doing fantastic. We've met each other a couple of times. Once when I worked for a different radio station, and the other, we sat at the same table in Atlanta during the Stellar Awards. And it was just a pleasure to hang out with you and your family.
[00:00:23] Speaker B: Oh, well, that's great. It was our pleasure to get to meet you.
[00:00:26] Speaker A: Well, you are for. For people who do not know, worship leader, also a pastor at Epic Life Church in Orlando, Florida. You just got inducted into the Women Songwriters hall of Fame at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, dc. What else is going on with you, Sister?
[00:00:46] Speaker B: Well, yeah, that was, you know, I always say, you know, we have a bucket list of prayer requests that we have that we're asking God to do. That wasn't even on my list. It's like God just reached out to something else and said, here, I'm going to bless you with this.
That was incredible. Such an honor. And, you know, I'm staying in a place of hearing from God, writing a podcast. You know, just. I've been invited on some podcasts. I've been interviewing on my podcast. And then my twin sister, Mary Alessi, and I, we're about to launch our Mary Martha podcast. Oh, wow. Come out. So, you know, we've got a lot going on, and I'm writing a children's book. I'm hoping to have it done by the end of this year. And it's called because of who youo Are. And it just is a great story to teach children the names of God. Yeah. Oh, I love that going on.
[00:01:36] Speaker A: I love that. And of course, that's from one of your songs.
[00:01:40] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:01:41] Speaker A: And also, you know, Glorious is one of my favorites and just so many more. And right now we're playing your new single as He's In Control. Can you tell me a bit about that?
[00:01:52] Speaker B: Yes. We actually wrote that song. I wrote it with my producer and then one other writer.
I wrote it, like, two years ago, and we were just here working. We hadn't even planned on recording a record at the time. And we just said, let's just keep writing. Let's just keep. We were here, we're all in Orlando. Let's write. And I said, I want to write a song.
I just feel like I'm supposed to write a song with the theme that God's in control. He's in control of my life.
And when I said it, it just like, it just sparked something in the atmosphere and everybody just started throwing out ideas. And then we were coming up with lyric, and then I thought, this is so strong. Like the verses. Jehovah, our father, yours is the greatness and power, your kingdom unending. You have all strength and dominion. And I said, now that sounds like a Martha Munizi lyric.
And it just kept growing. It just kept growing. And. And we knew that this was going to be a song that was going to go on the record, and I never realized I should have.
But to the extent God is going to use this song and has used this song over the last few, that.
[00:03:01] Speaker A: Is he's in control. Martha Munizzi is on the phone with me right now, and I am so fantastically happy for you because today your whole album dropped.
[00:03:12] Speaker B: Yes, yes. Listen, this has been a lot longer than I thought it was going to be. I thought this record was coming out last year in 2024, and it just kept hitting delay after delay. But God was trying to show me I've got the right time for this. They can stream it, go listen to it, download it wherever you're stream music and let me know what you think. There's all brand new songs except one song we recorded because of who you are and added a couple of beautiful moments to it, and I just can't wait to get the feedback of how people are just encouraged by the music.
[00:03:43] Speaker A: Well, I can't wait to listen to it this weekend. I am a big fan of yours and I told your record rep, Ebony, that I was so excited to be able to talk to you because my goodness, just the accolades that you have, from your awards to just your ministry, your worship, your church, it just resonates with me on a different level and I appreciate you for that.
