[00:00:00] Speaker A: This is such a thrill to me because we need to play catch up. I am on the phone with Tasha. Paige Lockhart. How are you, my dear? [00:00:08] Speaker B: I'm doing great. How are you, Randy? [00:00:11] Speaker A: I'm fantastic. I first want to say congratulations to you because we haven't talked since your wedding and your marriage. I also want to say I am so proud of you. I am thrilled for you. And most of all, I love how you handle keyboard cowards. [00:00:36] Speaker B: I wasn't ready. I wasn't ready. Listen, it's always gonna be somebody hiding behind a phone, a laptop, or something. I just be like, y' all go on now. [00:00:47] Speaker A: Go on. Let me be me. Let me be happy. And I am so excited that you are, and we're not on the phone for that, but I do want to just, you know, say how happy I am for you. [00:01:03] Speaker B: Thank you. Thank you so much. [00:01:04] Speaker A: I want to talk about what happened this year because you have a new relationship with Ty Scott Music, and I'm excited for you on that one. [00:01:15] Speaker B: Yeah. So we did a joint venture with Ty Scott, my partner and I. His name is Verse, and he comes from the R and B hip hop side. [00:01:21] Speaker A: Got it. [00:01:22] Speaker B: And so we partnered up, and we created a label called Gift Box Music. We did a joint venture with Ty Scott, and we were talking, and, you know, I had a single in mind that I wanted to promote, and I had been testing it out in churches and everything, and people were loving it, and it's a great song. But when I turned in the music to Tycot, they were like, this is a great song, but we want to focus on this one right here. And it was, he's on the way. And so I was like, you know what? I trusted the team, and I'm glad I did. You got to trust the people that you have around you. You have to be able to. Sometimes the way I operate is I'm all for the. The greater good of the best body of work that we can put together. I don't always have to have the best idea in the room. And so when you're a team player, sometimes being a team player means compromising. Sometimes being a team player means sitting your idea to the side for a better idea. [00:02:14] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:02:15] Speaker B: When I saw everybody saying, he's on the way, I yielded. I threw up my hands. I said, he's on the way. It is. Let's go. [00:02:22] Speaker A: I love this because this is your first solo release in six years. Yes. And you have made a lot of people's song go on the map just by your voice. But I'm excited because the single he's on the Way is gaining so much momentum for you. Tell me about the song. [00:02:41] Speaker B: Yeah, so the song is really a prophetic declaration. And it's been a while since I've been able to put out music. And people don't understand what it takes to be able to put out music, what it takes to be able to stand before people and deliver and be able to do it with clarity of mind and understanding that I can't be in a place where I'm struggling, and then I'm trying to help you get free. You know, they tell you on the airplane to put your mask on first. [00:03:09] Speaker A: That's right. [00:03:09] Speaker B: Or you try to help somebody else. And so over the past six years, I've just been going through a healing process and my journey of just making sure that I'm okay first. I've been through a lot of things publicly. You know what I mean? And I've been through a lot. If you saw me going through a lot publicly, just imagine what it was like in private, because you're only getting a taste of it. So it was hard. But I always tell myself that I can do hard things. And so what I had to realize in writing the song was God never left me. Even in those times when I thought I was alone, when I felt alone, or I felt like I don't hear your voice, or I haven't felt your presence in a long time. I. I didn't know what he had in store for me. And so I just thank God because he never forgot about me. And he truly is on the way. We say it all the time, and sometimes we get so used to the cliches that they kind of lose their power a little bit because we say them so much. But, no, he is truly on the way to meet your needs, to heal your body, to come through for you, to open doors that you've never seen before. Like, this is a real thing. God has not forgotten about you for sure. And so that's just what the song truly means. And I know I get so much joy when I see it blessing people. It just brings me to tears when I see the videos of people in their cars and, you know, they're playing and it's always heat, and they're like, this my song. Like, it's like. It makes it worth it for me. It's such an exciting time. He's on the way. [00:04:31] Speaker A: He's on the way. That is Tasha Paige Lockhart, my dear, this song is truly healing, and I've seen some of the videos that you have reposted on your Instagram from people who are just commenting on it and singing it out loud and really getting into it. And so that's what it's all about. [00:04:50] Speaker B: That is. It's what it's all about. That's why we do what we do. You know, it makes it all worth it. So to see the joy that it's bringing to other people, you know, it's ministered to me first for the past two years, since we actually made it. I opened up with this song on tour with Ty tribute, and just to see how the people reacted to it. I'm on that stage by myself. None of the bells and whistles. You know, Ty's audience is a ball of fire. They ready to go. They. They walk in, ready to go. Yes. Coming out the gate with a new song ain't nobody ever heard. But by the end of that song, baby, the crowd is up on their feet. They sitting with me. I said, I got one. Yep, I got one. [00:05:24] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, you do. You definitely do. And I'm really excited for you. I know that the single is out now. You're working on the full project to be released later in 2027. But how do they get ahold of the song and how do they find you on social media? [00:05:43] Speaker B: Listen, everywhere music is sold, everywhere music is streamed. Just type in Tasha Paige Lockhart. She's on the way. And when you get the song, don't just download the song, don't just stream the song, but share it with somebody. And put that thing on repeat and turn it up loud. It's a sequence to it because when it first come on, you hear the old record sound, and then that organ comes screaming in. Then the beat drops, and it makes you feel so good. I'm telling you. It just feels so good. [00:06:09] Speaker A: You know, Sometimes you just gotta get that song deep down in your spirit. And I think that that's what's happening with he's on the Way. People need to have that embedded so it can guard their heart. [00:06:19] Speaker B: Absolutely. And be. Sometimes you need a reassurance. You need a reassurance that, okay, God got me. Yep, he forgot about me. I'm not alone. I'm good. [00:06:28] Speaker A: I love it. And I love you, too. Thank you for spending some time with me. And anytime we. When you are in the Motor City at home, please stop by the station and see me. I need to hug you. [00:06:40] Speaker B: I all got to hug you. I got to get one long, tight hug. I can't wait. [00:06:46] Speaker A: And bring your husband so I can meet him. [00:06:48] Speaker B: I will. I sure will. I promise. [00:06:51] Speaker A: All right. Love you, my girl. [00:06:52] Speaker B: Love you, too.
