But some are just finding out about this powerhouse vocalist after a clip of her song, “Grateful Chant” went viral on social media. Because of its popularity, Pastor Lisa has released the single, but it was an emotional recording because it was the first time recorded anything without her husband Bishop Michael A. Brooks in nearly 40-years. For some context, Lisa Page Brooks first came on the scene with the gospel group Witness in 1996. Her husband and Fred Hammond established […]

[00:00:00] Speaker A: I am on the phone with my sister, Lisa Paige Brooks. How are you? [00:00:05] Speaker B: I am doing great. [00:00:07] Speaker A: I'm doing great listening to you right now. I'm so excited because back in July, you witnessed your beloved husband, Bishop Michael Brooks, leave his earthly vessel. So, first of all, how are you doing? [00:00:21] Speaker B: Taking 1 second at a time, Randy? [00:00:24] Speaker A: Mm hmm. Mm hmm. I tell people that all the time. They say, one day at a time. I was like, sometimes it's 1 second at a time. [00:00:31] Speaker B: It's 1 second. [00:00:34] Speaker A: A lot of changes have gone on, and you call it your new normal. I watch you on social media, and I understand that as well, because you have to put different things in place where you would consult with somebody like your husband or your daughters or something like that. You have to do this on your own. So it takes a lot. Yeah. So I am continually praying for you, but I am so excited because in the midst of your new normal, you recorded. Well, you didn't record it. Someone recorded you singing. Were you all at your church? [00:01:11] Speaker B: No, we were at an event in Dayton, Ohio. And I just do what I normally do. You know what I'm saying? [00:01:18] Speaker A: Tear the paint off the walls. Yeah. [00:01:22] Speaker B: I'm just singing, and I enjoy what I do. And, you know, sometimes my daughter say, ma, you a clown? And you, I'm just doing what I do. And a young lady, actually, that was with me. She assist me. She's like, she's been at the ministry now for over 20 years. I told her, I said, you know, make sure you get some footage so we can kind of put some content up from the Dayton, Ohio date. [00:01:44] Speaker A: Right? [00:01:45] Speaker B: And so she sent me over several videos that evening, and I looked at that little piece because it was the shortest piece that we had, and I put it up like I normally do, and I woke up to, ma, get up, get up, get up. You going viral on TikTok? And I said, what? [00:02:03] Speaker A: Right, right. And I'm telling you, the song, which is named Grateful Chant, you call yourself the grateful Chick. So, you know. So I got the correlation. But that song just that little clip has gone rent free in my head since you released it. [00:02:25] Speaker B: Yes. I've never experienced this. I'm like, this is something like, what did I do? But I do realize, though, really. And it sounds cliche ish, and it sounds redundant, but this is actually a God thing. [00:02:40] Speaker A: Oh, absolutely. Lisa, listen, I have been watching this thing take off, and it's almost like Bishop is like, okay, you got this. [00:02:50] Speaker B: Yes. It's like, I tell. I call it a God kiss. [00:02:55] Speaker A: Yes. [00:02:55] Speaker B: Cause somebody shared with me, like, you know, God kissed you. He's like, hey, you gonna be all right? [00:03:01] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:01] Speaker B: And I'm like, oh, my God, this is so unbelievable. And it's so. It's exciting. It's so many things. I feel, you know, it's a bittersweet situation, for sure, that I really wish my husband was here, but it's like he's here with me in this. And I shared with someone that that particular day, when that clip went up, that was the first engagement that I did after my husband passed. So just singing the songs that he wrote, it was almost like now when I hear his lyrics, it's like he's a talking to me, encouraging me through the words of the song that I sing or have been singing. So it's just really an experience for me. It's just an experience. [00:03:45] Speaker A: And I love the fact that it's not just churchy people who are using your video. [00:03:52] Speaker B: Right. [00:03:53] Speaker A: And that is God's work. For real. [00:03:55] Speaker B: Absolutely. Absolutely. [00:03:58] Speaker A: Well, I saw you at the reunion tour, and as soon as we saw each other, I'm like, when can I play it? [00:04:05] Speaker B: Yes. You know? Right? You did. You did, you did. [00:04:11] Speaker A: And I couldn't wait to get this on. It couldn't happen for a better person at a better time. Let's listen to it right now. It's the grateful chant with Lisa Paige Brooks. [00:04:24] Speaker B: Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. [00:04:28] Speaker A: Praise you, Lord Goddess. Oh, I've got Pastor Lisa Page Brooks on the phone with me. That is her brand new song. It went viral first, the grateful chant, and I am so grateful for you. [00:04:42] Speaker B: Oh, God, I'm so grateful for the song. Grateful to God, grateful for the people. I just feel like, to a certain extent, the world is hugging me right now. I tell people, they're saying, I'm praying for you. I actually feel that, you know, a lot of times we hear, I'm praying for you, but it's like so much love from the season that my life is in and dealing with grief. I can just feel the strength, and I'm so grateful for that. [00:05:09] Speaker A: Yeah, it's always good when, you know, people are praying for you. And that way you don't have to worry about yourself getting down on your knees or praying, because sometimes you just don't have the words. So you do. You do what you need to do while everybody else lifts you up. [00:05:26] Speaker B: I thank God for it. I really do. [00:05:29] Speaker A: Well, how do we get ahold of the grateful chant? [00:05:32] Speaker B: It's on all platforms. You can download it iTunes, apple Music, tidal, YouTube, it's everywhere. Spotify, download this, chant, this song. And I'm just, oh, my God, thank you. Thank you. You've supported me throughout the years and I'm really grateful for that. And I'm just, I'm speechless. I'm just like, lord, I just thank you. I do. [00:05:55] Speaker A: Amen, amen and amen. And how do we keep up with you as well? [00:06:00] Speaker B: Definitely the social media platform, I'm there checking in every day on Instagram. It's all under Lisa page Brooks. And then if you guys want me to come and chant at your church ministry, your event, email me. It's simple. Singlpdsingmail.com dot and absolutely you do sing. [00:06:22] Speaker A: Sister Singh, I am so excited for you. And like I said on our social media, I just love watching you soar. So you soar. Lisa Page Brooks and I love you so much. [00:06:33] Speaker B: I love you back. Thank you so much.
